Evaluation the Knowledge of Evidence-based Dentistry Among Bandar Abbas Dentistry Students in 2016

Objectives: In these years, using research evidences for making more effective treatment plans and increasing the quality of treatment advised. Finding the evidence based sources in this huge amount of books and articles is very difficult and it is the importance of learning evidence based dentistry. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the knowledge of EBD in Bandar Abbas faculty of dentistry students.
Methods: This is a cross sectional study using questionnaires to collect the data. One hundred and three dentistry students participated in this study at Bandar Abbas faculty of dentistry in 2015. The data analyzed by SPSS version 23.
Results: Ninety three percent of the students believed that using EBD in treating patients would make better results, while only 8 percent of them had moderate knowledge about EBD.
Conclusions: : Dentistry students of Bandar Abbas have little knowledge about evidence based dentistry references' but they have a positive attitude toward EBD, because they don't have special courses. Because of the importance of EBD in clinical processes and treatment plans it is good to have courses about search and using EBD.
