Evaluation Of Physiotherapy Treatment In Patients With Dysfunction Temporomandibular

Objective: Descriptive, transversal and documentary study that objectified to trace the nosologic profile of 41 carrying patients of Temporomandibular Disorders  whom they had carried through concomitant treatment of odontology and physiotherapy in a private clinic of the city of Fortaleza-Ce. 

Method: The instruments for the collection of the data had been:  fiches of evaluation and evolution, findings of the radiography  examinations and form.  The data had been analyzed statistical  through software SPSS, version 10.0. 

Result: As results the research demonstrated that the majority of the sample was composed for women with average of age of 32 years (+/- 10,60), they had as complaints of chronic headache, mastication mialgia , pain in the ATM, cervicalgia, otalgia, amongst others.  The complete sample presented, at least, an associated pathology and/or concomitant to the disorders of the ATM. In the radiography  findings it has constancy of alteration in the ATM, as well as dental absences.  The analgesics are the used medicines more.  

Conclusion: The DTM is concluded that as being a complex syndrome, with some etiologies, factors aggravations and pertinent, numerous  symptomatic, needing a multiple therapeutical boarding and each specialized time more in search of the success in the treatment.
