Assessment of Tunisian Dentists' Knowledge of Antibiotic Indications
Objectives: Evaluation of the knowledge of Tunisian dentists on antibiotic therapy and antibiotic prophylaxis. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out from a questionnaire, comprising 7 questions, distributed online which is interested in Tunisian dentists. Results: A total of 258 dentists were included in the study. The majority of Tunisian dentists (84.5%) demonstrated an average level of knowledge regarding the indications for antibiotic therapy and antibiotic prophylaxis. Conclusions: This study has highlighted the shortcomings relating to the prescription of antibiotics in our dental practice. Action plans targeting the latter could constitute a first step in the establishment of a policy for the proper use of antibiotics in dentistry.
