A Litterature Review of Regenerative Endodontic Procedure (REP) :Protocols's Guidance.

Objectives: REP is a technique, described in the new scientific littérature that allows root development and revitalization in young permanant immature teeth (PIT).
This work through a review of the literature will try to clarify some clinical guidelines in the selection of cases and in the protocol to achieve the technique of REP.
Methods: An electronic search was performed in pubmed and medline databases among studies published
from 2017 to 2022 using the following keywords: Immature permanant teeth, MTA, revitalization,
regenerative endodontic procedure.
Results: This review guidance is a work in progress because of the evolution of tissue engineering and scaffolds.
Although, we can state some guidances for case selection (apical diameters, stage of root development…) and for clinical protocol in root desinfection (sodium hypochlorite 1.5-3% with EDTA 17% solution),
in intracanal medication with non-setting calcium hydroxide or with minimal concentration of triple antibiotic paste (TAP) and in coronal restoration with silicate-based materials to enhance chances of successful outcomes .
Conclusions: REP is a promising procedure which need more studies and efforts from the scientific community
to ensure the preservation as long as possible of the naturel dentition.
