Anterior Occlusal Splint : When ,how ,why?
Objectives: To present principales of the anterior splint .
to determine the influence of the anterior occlusal splint on muscles activites and condylien movements.
Methods: Two techniques were realised to obtain anterior splints: direct and indirect techniques
Results: Anterior occlusal splint contribute to a reduction of the activity of Temporal and Masseter muscles.
An anterior movement of the condyle was reported.
Conclusions: Anterior occlusal splint should obey to certain recommandations. Otherwise,it can cause disastrous consequences.
