an unusual appearance and rare localization of the squamous cell carcinoma

Objectives: Squamous cell carcinoma presents 90 %of malignant tumors of the oral cavity .The most common location of this tumor is at the level of the tongue .
The aim of this poster is to present an unusual aspect of squamous cell carcinoma of the inner face of the right cheek


Methods: A 67 years old man who was addressed by the dermatology department for biopsy of a whitish verrucose budding lesion which is at the level of the inner face of the right cheek
evolving since 7 months which has been diagnosed with chronic pseudo epitheliomatous candidiasis . But without any improvement under antifungal.
The extra oral examination was normaly and the intraoral examination revealed an exophytic and verrucous lesion at the inner face of the right cheek. A second biopsy was performed in our department and the anapath examination revealed a well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. So the patient was referred to the maxillofacial department for best management.
Results: One month later the patient consulted our department and we he declared that a surgical resection with selective neck dissection was performed.
Conclusions: the aim of this study is to assess the importance of a well structured and organised clinical assessement that will brighten the way to the fastest and most proper diagnosis ,and at this stage we could be able to organise the medical care referring to the TNM classification ,this whole procedere depends on the importance of the role of the densist to diagnose and refer as soon as possible .
