Influence of OHE with Demonstration Method on Clildren's Attitude

Objective: The aim of this study was to observe whether the influence of oral health education (OHE) modified with demonstration against the oral health attitude of school students. Method: This study was an experimental study with pre and post test design. Fifty-one school students from Bakti Mulya 400 Elementary School Jakarta, Indonesia aged 11 – 12 years old were recruited in this study. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaire on their oral health attitude before and after intervention using OHE with demonstration.  Result: The result showed that the means (± standard deviations) of students’ attitude scores before and after intervention were 39.55 (± 2.8) and 41.55 (± 4.1) respectively.  After using paired t-test the result showed that students oral health attitude score was significantly enhanced after OHE with demonstration (P = 0.0026). Conclusion: Based on the data of this study it can be concluded that oral health education with demonstration method is effective in increasing students’ oral health attitude.
