CEPHALOMETRIC STANDARDS FOR YOUNG ADULT JAVANESE FROM JAKARTA, INDONESIA
Objectives:to determine cephalometric standards for the Javanese population from Jakarta-Indonesia, in order to provide measurements for use in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning. Methods:The sample consist of 106 Cephalometrics film, subjects between 15 and 30 years of age. All individuals in the sample had an angle Class I molar relationship, no history of orthodontic treatment and no significant medical history. Measurements were compared to Chinese, Javanese, Thai, Filippino, Black and Caucasian norms. Results:Javanese exhibited greater bimaxillary protrusion, greater proclination of incisors and a smaller nasolabial angle than all other Asian groups. Conclusion:each race has their own norms standards with their own characteristic.
