Bioactivity Of Stolephorus Insularis To The Bone Healing

Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine Stolephorus Insularis to the increasing osteoblast number in bone healing. Methods: 18 Wistar rats were divided to 3 groups. Group 1 is a control group, the rats were fed standart food per day. Group 2, the rats were fed standart food and stolephorus insularis 4,5 gr/kg weight dose per day. Group 3, the rats were fed standart food and stolephorus insularis 18 gr/kg weight dose per day. All rats were fractured at the left middle third of tibia bone and immobilized with plaster of cast. After 4 weeks (28 days) all the rats were sacrificed, taken the tibia bone to make HE histologycal slide, and examined the number of osteoblast by microscope. Then the data analyzed by ANOVA. Results: All data were tested with normality test, homogenity test and ANOVA test (p=0.05). The number of osteoblast showed significantly increasing (0.00). The mean/SD of osteoblast number in group 1 is 70 ± 37,84: The mean/SD of osteoblast number in group 2 is 126 ± 29,94 and the mean/SD of osteoblast number in group 3 is 183 ± 23,71. With the LSD test, showed that group 2,3 had significantly differences to group 1 and the group 3 had significantly differences to group 2. The group 3 have the least significancy. Conclusion: Stolephorus Insularis 18 gr/kg weight dose per day have the best result to increase the number of osteoblast in bone healing.
