Methods used to Evaluate Dental Undergraduate Learning of Chulalongkorn University

Objective: To assess the methods that full time faculty staffs frequently used to evaluate dental undergraduate learning. Methods: A questionnaire consisted of close-ended and open-ended questions regarding know and use of different methods to evaluate undergraduate's knowledge, skills and attitudes. The measurement was performed once. The obtained data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results: The response rate was 54.73 %. In the last 2 years, the 3 mostly known and used methods from 15 observed items were short answer question, presentation and multiple choice question. Three mostly used methods to evaluate intellectual skill were multiple choice question, short answer question and presentation. Three mostly used methods for practical skill were requirement, presentation and short answer question. Three mostly used methods to evaluate attitudes were short answer question, presentation and report. Conclusion: Full time faculty staff knew and used many different methods. The methods that staffs were not familiar were observation, portfolio, self assessment and peer assessment.
