Attitudes to Problem Based Learning Strategy and Achievement Test

Previous studies have shown correlation between attitudes and cognitive achievement. Objective: To find out the relationship between attitudes to Problem Based Learning Strategy toward achievement on test about diagnosis. Methods: A sample of 67 respondents was selected randomly from 2nd year students of Dentistry at University of Indonesia, Jakarta. Data on achievement test were taken through an essay test about diagnosis. The data was analyzed by simple regression analysis. Results: There was a positive correlation between attitude to Problem Based Learning Strategy and achievement test (r=0.406) which was statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusions: The study shows, attitudes to Problem Based Learning strategy significantly contribute to students ability in problem solving.
