Management of Endodontic-Periodontic Lesion : a Systematic Review

Objectives: The endodontic-periodontic lesions have been characterized by the involvement of the pulp and periodontal disease in the same tooth. It makes difficult to diagnose because a single lesion may present signs of both endodontic and periodontal involvement. The aim of the study is to determine wich treatment mostly use in endodontic-periodontic lession cases.
Methods: Pubmed and Wiley online searches were conducted to identify articles published in dental journals until April 2018 focusing on treatment of endodontic-periodontic lesion. Manual searches of published full-text articles and related reviews were performed afterwards. There are 194 studies found, but only 16 studies met the inclusion criteria.
Results: All articles were selected for full-text review. A total 16 studies were selected for inclusion, with 22 patients as subjects. All of the studies showed the decreased of probing depth (PD) after treatment or healing of the lesion. All the study included were case report with treatment using Root Canal Treatment (RCT) alone or RCT combination with bone graft or RCT with PRF.
Conclusions: treatment using Root Canal Treatment (RCT) combination with bone graft was mostly used from other treatment in endo-perio lesion
