The Increase of TGF Beta Expression after Fish Scales Collagen Treatment in Alveolar Bone
Objectives: To observe the enhancement of TGF-β1 expression upon scaffold fish-scale application.
Methods: Thirty-six experimental animals were randomly divided into 4 groups. First was 7-days control group, second was 7-days fish-scale group, third was 14-days control group, and fourth was 14-days fish-scale group. TGF-β1 expression was analyzed by immunohistochemistry on day 7 and 14.
Results: Statistic test one-way ANOVA with significant number 0.000 (p < 0,05) and Tukey HSD multiple comparisons showed a significant difference between three groups, 7-days control group, 7-days fish-scale group, 14-days control group and 14-days fish-scale group. The peak expression of TGF-β1 was showed on 14-days fish-scale group.
Conclusions: Fish-scale scaffold derived from gouramy can enhance the expression of TGF-β1.
