Biostimulation of Low Intensity Laser to Accelerate Tooth Movement During Orthodontic Treatment by Expression of Heat Shock Protein-70 and Bone Alkaline Phosphatase in Marmot (Cavia Porcellus).
Objectives: to know and analyze the mechanism biostimulation Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT) to accelerate tooth movement during orthodontic treatment in Heat Shock Protein-70 (HSP-70) and Bone Alkaline Phosphatase (BALP) expression in Marmots (Cavia Porcellus). Methods: an analytical experimental research with post-test only randomized control group design. The sample was consisted 24; 8 samples each group. Animal model was male marmots (Cavia Porcellus), 300-500g, 3-4 month old. The sample was divided into 3 groups (group1: control group without orthodontic treatment, group2: with orthodontic treatment, group3: orthodontic treatment with LILT). Biostimulation irradiation of LILT was performed on mesial-distal, labial, and palatal of first incisive dextra and sinistra, 3 minutes on every site with 4 Joule/cm2 dose every day. Animal models were terminated after 2 weeks then Imunnohistochemistry (IHC) was performed to examine Bone Alkaline Phosphatase (BALP) and Heat Shock Protein-70 (HSP-70) with monoclonal antibody. Data was analyzed by One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) (p<0.05) and Mann Whitney (p<0.05) based on Saphiro-Wilk normality test and Levene's of variance Homogeneity test (p>0.05). Results: HSP-70 expression significantly different between group p=0.000 (p<0.05) in tensile and pressure area. HSP-70 expression was decrease in both tensile areas with mean±Standart Deviation (SD) (4.50±3.114) and pressure area (4.69±1.768) in group3. BALP expression were significantly different in both tensile area p=0.005 (p<0.05) and pressure area p=0.0009 (p<0.05) between groups. BALP expression was decrease in pressure area (3.75±3.75) and increase in tensile area (14.81±4.549) in group3. Conclusions: Biostimulation LILT can accelerate tooth movement during orthodontic treatment by decrease HSP-70 expression in both tensile and pressure area thus increase BALP expression in tensile area.
