Modulation of Integrin Mediates Collagen Attachment by Stichopus Hermanii in Relapse Orthodontic
Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate modulation of α2β1 integrin mediates collagen type 1 periodontal ligament attachment by Stichopus hermanii in Relapse orthodontic. Methods: The experiment was held by Post Test Only Group design. Thirty two male Cavia Cobaya were divided into four groups. K(-) group as negative control group (without treatment), K(+) group as positive control group which were applied with relaps orthodontic forces, and the other groups P1, P2, were applied with relaps orthodontic forces and stichopus hermanii 2,5 % and 3 %. After treatment the cavia cobaya were sacrificed. α2β1 Integrin and collagen type 1 expression was stained with immunohistochemistry and examined with light microscope 400X.. Results: This study showed means and SD of α2β1 Integrin expression in K(-), K(+), P1,and P2 are 9,90±1,91; 5,25±3,24; 14±2,38 and 16,38±4,96 and collagen type 1 are 16,70±2,541; 8±2,07; 21±1,00 and 26,25±2,38. Α2β1 integrin and collagen type 1 expression was significantly differences in group P2 compare to K(-) and K(+), P1 group. P1 and P2 showed increased Α2β1 integrin and collagen type 1 expression whether P2 has the best expression. Conclusions: Modulation of α2β1 Integrin by Stichopus hermanii, especially in 3 % had the best bioactivity could mediates collagen type 1 periodontal ligament to prevent relapse orthodontic.
