Remodeling Periodontal Ligament of Prevention Stichopus hermanii to Collagen Type-I
Objectives: Orthodontic treatment takes a long time for remodeling of the periodontal ligament which mostly composed of collagen type-1. Collagen type-1 has big tensile strength that made the collagen fibers. Stichopus hermanii have a variety of compounds such as collagen and glycosaminoglycan that might increase the expression of collagen type-I for remodeling periodontal ligament. Research Stichopus hermanii againts collagen type-I on remodeling of periodontal ligament has not been investigated. This study aimed to verify remodeling periodontal ligament of prevention stichopus hermanii to collagen type-I Methods: Subjects were twenty-four Cavia cobaya males were divided into four groups. (K1) negative control, (K2) positive control which giving separator plier between incisive central. (P1) treatment group which giving separator plier between incisive central and Stichopus hermanii gel 3%, and (P2) treatment group which giving separator plier between incisive central and Stichopus hermanii gel 3.5%. The data obtained by the expression of collagen type-I staining imunohistochemistry calculated and analyzed by ANOVA followed by LSD test. Results: The mean of groups (K1), (K2), (P1), (P2) are (11,83 ± 1.602), (2,33± 1,033), (10,83 ± 1,169), and (16,33 ± 2,160). ANOVA test showed a significant difference in all the groups. Conclusions: Stichopus hermanii gel with concentration 3.5% in fourteenth days most effectively increasing the expression of collagen type-I for remodeling periodontal ligament
