Exact fitting of cast post and cores is a very critical procedure because they should be retentive and in the same time fit passively. If passive fitting is not achieved, wedging stresses may result leading to root fracture. However, in some cases, cast post and cores do not fit precisely and consequently require adjustment which could lead to looseness. A simple technique is described to enhance passive fitting of cast post and cores with less effort and time. This is achieved by applying a slurry mix of sandblasting powder on the resin pattern as well as the cast post during their try-in stages.
