The purpose of this presentation was to introduce the B-clasp for the removable orthodontic appliances that clasped over the molar bands of the fixed appliance. The removable appliance is very helpful when flat bite plane is required to eliminate the occlusal interference to correct the cross bite. The B-clasp is fabricated from 0.7 mm spring hard stainless steel wire and consists of mesial circle, bridge, distal circle, flyover, and tag. It engaged the roof of the upper molar tube from the distal aspect and will not interfere with the fixed appliance. Removable appliances with and without bite planes constructed by the described B-clasp was used for wide clinical application. The presentation describes the step-by-step preparation of the B-clasp and illustrates its clinical applications. The B-clasp proved practical, effective and retentive.
