Recently Composites have appeared with special natures to replace the enamel once was lost, understanding to this last simply as a filter, these correcting masses have appeared values they will alter the subjacent or dentine's color's whiteness.
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to compare between the same classification (values), two different composite trademarks (Opallis and Four Seasons).
METHOD: Six times, with a digital camera were photographed to 5x, six composites specimens of Opallis (OP) and Four Seasons (FS), using a photographic cubicle once was illuminated with fluorescent OSRAM (2350lm, CRI, D55 10°); Shown in Adobe Photoshop 7.0, and Obtaining the values CIELab in the software Color Sliderule, the color histogram was examined, CIELab (DE) difference of color among them and the whiteness formula of the system.
RESULTS: Color differences superior didn’t find to 2.26 themselves, but if differences were present in whiteness formula of the system CIELab. (p<0.05)CONCLUSION: It does not exist good marks you tell apart of color among these resins, because they do not represent cromaticity but whiteness. Gradual differences among the values (Low, Medium, and High) in both shade marks exist. The low and medium values of Four Season’s are whiter than his correspondents in Opallis. The order of the greater to minus whiteness: HV(FS)>VH(OP)>MV(FS)=VM(OP) >VL(OP) >LV(FS)rchl74@hotmail.com
