level of pain and maximum diameter of ulcers were measured and recorded on days 0, 2 and 5.

Result:

Hyaluronic acid significantly relieved ulcer pain (P<0.05) for days 2 and 5, and reduced the maximum diameter of ulcers (P<0.05) for days 2 and 5.

By the day 5of treatment, 30% of the ulcers had clinically healed in the study group, compared to 5% in the control group.
