Methods: Forty disc-shaped specimens (10x2mm) were prepared for each composite-resin material (an ormocer, a packable, a nanohybrid, a microhybrid) (n=10) for a total of 160 discs. Each group was divided into 4 subgroups (control, polishing discs, polishing wheels and glaze material). Changes in color and color parameters were calculated based on the color coordinates before and after the aging treatment. The micromorphologies of the surface of composite-resins were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
Results: The lowest DE*, ΔL* and Δb* values were found in the glazed specimens (p<0.05). Of the composite-resins, the microhybrid composite-resin showed the lowest color change (DE*) whereas the ormocer group showed the highest (p<0.05).
Conclusions: All composite-resins with all polishing methods showed color changes after the aging treatment.
