Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the colour correspondence of different batches of Triluxe ceramic CAD/CAM blocks by the use of a spectrophotometer.
Methods: three shades of Triluxe blocks (Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Sackingen, Germany) for Cerec CAD/CAM system (Sirona, Bensheim, Germany) were selected (1M2, 2M2, 3M2). One size of blocks was selected (14). For each of the three colours, three different batches were investigated. For each batch of each color, 5 blocks were measured, for a total of 45 specimen. The measurement were made by the use of a spectrophotometer (OceanOptics PSD1000). The spectrophotometer was equipped with an integrating sphere (OceanOptics ISP-REF) with a 0.4 opening, and the measurement were made by placing the translucent (coronal) shade of the blocks in contact with the integrating sphere opening. The sample were placed in a repeatable position by the use of a stent, and backed by a Kodak grey card. Measurement were made by a 10scan average, in CIELab* colorimetric system.

ANOVA statistical analysis showed a non statistical significant difference between the groups (p>0.05).
Conclusions: The three different batches of the three different shades of VITA Triluxe block for Cerec CAD/CAM system showed a high colour correspondence.
