Objective:Using transgenic tomatoes of Streptococcus mutans-encoded surface protein PAcP region and Cholera Toxin B subunit carrying fused gene immuned SD ratsCtest its immunogenicityCexplore the possibility of edible vaccine against dental caries was security and economy . Methods:The study about the edible vaccine against dental caries of transgenic tomatoes immuned SD rats: 18 eighteen-days -old male SD rats, establish dental caries modelö@18 rats were randomly divided into three groups: the immunity class of transgenic tomatoes juice, the immunity class of Streptococcus mutans inactivatedCthe immunity class of non-transgenic tomatoes juiceöA immune pathway: gavage. öBImmunity time: four times, each week interval. öC the time of sample collection: Collected specimen of blood, saliva samples the day before the first immunity and one week after each immunization.öDthe detection of the specific antibody : To detect IgG of blood serum and SIgA of saliva by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (indirect ELISA) testing. öE70 days old rats were killed and all the maxillary and mandibular bones were taken out, for counting dental caries scores. Results:After immunization ,the experimental group and the positive control group had statistical significance in level of specificity IgG in serum and SIgA in saliva compared with negative control group (P <0.05) , positive and negative control group were significant differences in levels of caries loss (P <0.01),Conclusion:The aim protein which expressed on the transgenic tomatoes has immunogenic, it can induce the rodent having the effective immune response of mucous membrane and the system and suppress the occurrence of the dental caries.
