A Clinical Analysis Of Oral Medicine Patients With Hypochondriasis Tendency
Objective: To study the ratio of patients with hypochondriasis tendency, and their sex, age, primary symptoms and the relation with system diseases. Method: A retrospective study was carried out on 17778 patients' complete medical records in the past 30 years(1978-2008), to screen the patients with hypochondriasis tendency using specified criteria. Result: There were 132 positive cases(51.56%), and their age was mostly in the 40-59 years(64.40%). The most common symptom patients consulting physicians consecutively were burning or uncomfortable sensation(71.97%). The ratio of patients with both hypochondriasis tendency and system diseases was 68.33%. Conclusion: The patients' ratio with hypochondrasis tendency is high, and their complaint usually is burning or uncomfortable feel.
