Antifungal Activity of Coating Monopoly on Acrylic Resin Denture Base

Summary: Denture related stomatitis (DRS) is the most common problem in denture wearer. DRS has multifactorial etiology and Candida Albicans (CA) is the most frequent pathogenic agent. Monopoly is a coating of acrylic resin, it was used as glaze to produce polished and smooth surface on acrylic resin denture base, as polished and smooth surface is less susceptible to colonization and growth of the candida albicans. Very few studies (hardly two or three, also with very low sample size) are available which evaluate antifungal activity of coating monopoly on acrylic resin denture to prevent denture associated stomatitis in denture wearer. By using this cheap modality of treatment we can prevent the development of denture associated stomatitis in denture wearers.
