Endodontic and restorative management of crown dilaceration.

Objectives: To restore the aesthetics and function of dilacerated crown of tooth #31 by endodontic and restorative therapy.
Methods: A 15yrs old boy presented with labially discolored and coronally bent dilacerated crown having a history of trauma to primary tooth at the age of 3yrs. On examination patient was diagnosed with hypo calcified crown dilaceration having asymptomatic apical periodontitis with pulp necrosis. The tooth was treated with nonsurgical endodontic treatment and direct composite restoration.
Labially bent portion of the crown was removed using a high-speed straight fissure bur. Endodontic treatment was initiated ; Cleaning and shaping was done with rotary hyflex edm (single file system), followed by post and core built up and permanent composite restoration. With optimum occlusal adjustment done.

Results: Patient was satisfied with the improved aesthetics. Tooth was clinically intact. Non tender on percussion or palpation. No mobility. Periodontium was healthy .Healing of periapical radiolucency was observed.
Conclusions: Regular follow up is needed to avoid future complications in developing permanent teeth, following traumatic injuries to deciduous. Correct diagnosis and meticulous treatment planning is required to achieve desirable esthetic and function for crown dilacerations.
