A case report of pleomorphic adenoma of cheek with review
Objectives: The aim of this study is to document a case of pleomorphic adenoma of cheek of one year duration and review all cases of intraoral pleomorphic adenoma between January 1990 and September 2016 in Libyan population in Benghazi relative to the site distribution.. Methods: This study consists of documentation of clinical and histopathological findings of case of cheek pleomorphic adenoma occurring in a Libyan female patient in addition to review of archives material of oral and maxillofacial pathology department between January 1990 and September 2016 for all cases of intraoral pleomorphic adenoma in Libyan population in Benghazi in relation to the site only. Results: The review study showed that 57% of intraoral PA cases occurred in the palate, 30% of PA occurred in cheek, 9% of PA occurred in lips, and only 4% PA cases were in floor of the mouth. Conclusions: Pleomorphic adenoma of Cheek is uncommon and should be included in differential diagnosis for youngster and adults.
