A health promotion web application for virtual teacher training

Objectives: To design a web app for the immediate treatment of traumatic oral injuries in schoolchildren.
Methods: A virtual protocol about the immediate treatment given to children in the event of a traumatic dental injury was designed, following the guidelines of the International Association of Dental Traumatology, modified, and adapted for our target population, with selected theoretical contents, new visual tools, language adequacy, and specific drawings. It was designed with the requirement of compatibility with browsers and responsiveness to different resolutions to achieve its correct display on all electronic devices and universal use and information safety requirements. We worked on its structure considering the importance of its applicability, bringing together the fundamental characteristics of being friendly, intuitive, and easy to appropriate by users. The requirements of the highest degree of computer security in the transfer of data were met, using the HTTPS Protocol.
Results: The virtual development app was planned together with Information Technology Analysts and is available on http:/www.dravgv.com/traumadental. The PHP-Laravel programming language was applied and the MySQL database engine. It develops the contents in two areas: trauma in permanent teeth and temporary teeth. The contents follow an instructional design with a logical order of appearance.
Conclusions: A training app was created, promoting de usefulness of open educational resources for oral health promotion The sharp increase in the usage of didactic materials in the XXI century must be regarded as a change of the cultural account and the pedagogic functionality of the material. The digital environment or educative spaces are the objects, spaces, or gadgets of a digital nature that make sense in a concrete scenario, social and culturally built, with the purpose of favoring valuable learning experiences.
