A study of tooth whitening effects on Hydrogen Peroxide Tooth Whitener of strip type used on natural teeth for 2 weeks

The purpose of this single-blind study was to compare and evaluate the effectiveness of a  tooth whitening system containing 1.5% and 2.8% H2O2 whitening strips. One-hundred fifty participants were randomized into tÀç experimental and one control groups, 50 persons for each which were balanced for gender, tobacco habits, and their teeth color. Experiment ¥°group has attached a strip with 1.5% Hydrogen peroxide at anterior 12 teeth, 2.8% Hydrogen peroxide in Experiment ¥± group, and 0% Hydrogen peroxide in control group. Each strip was using 30 minutes one time and twice a day. And we measured the value(baseline) before the use of respective whitener and the value after its use for 2 weeks. Shades were measured after 2 weeks using SHADEEYE-EX Dental Chroma Meter. The results were as follows ; 1. There was 56.25%(27/48 persons) persons, rate of tooth whitening effects in the experiment ¥° group for 2  weeks(p<0.01). 2. There was 74.00%(34/50 persons) persons, rate of tooth whitening effects in the experiment ¥± group for 2 weeks(p<0.01). 3. The experiment ¥± group was more whitener effects than the experiment ¥°group(P<0.05). 4. We have no awful side effects on the experimental whitener used for 2  weeks.
