Uncommon complication during Intralesional injection inside the oral caivty
Objectives: To describe a case of diplopia and vision disturbance in a child with central giant cell granuloma (CGCG) in the mandible while giving intralesional steroid injection. Methods: Patient was given intralesional injection for management of CGCG which was composed of triamcinolone 40mg with lidocaine 2% 1:100000 epinephrine, this procedure was done regularly until the lesion was finally enucleated. Results: An 8 years old male patient developed sudden diplopia after intralesional injection for the management of mandibular CGCG Conclusions: Although rare, abducens nerve palsy could occur during regular intraoral injections including intralesional steroids for management of intrabony jaw lesions.
