Objectives: Objective 1: To detect errors in the methods of impression pouring Objective 2: To detect investment mixing errors and the extent of compliance with the companies’ instructions Objective 3: To detect errors in the use of ceramics, according to the company’s instructions Methods: A cross-sectional study of 20 questions was completed by dental technologists working in 24 laboratories in Amman. Results: The expertise of dental technologists ranged from 5 to 30 years. The findings revealed several practices and recommendations among the dental technologists. It provided important insights into their practices and identified key factors affecting the quality of their work. The ideal casting time for alginate impressions was found to be 30 minutes, whereas for silicone impressions, it ranged from 1 to 5 hours. Delaying the casting of alginate impressions resulted in shrinkage, while no adverse effects were observed for delays in casting silicone impressions. Die stone emerged as the preferred material for casting impressions with implants. The technicians commonly used isolators and spacers before waxing, but the repeated use of metal was noted. When it came to finishing zircon restorations, the appropriate speed range was determined to be 5000-10000 RPM. Increasing the speed beyond this range was found to cause cracks, while slight variations within the range had minimal effects. The study also highlighted that cracks in porcelain were attributed to temperature differences, particularly rapid cooling. These findings contribute to the understanding of best practices for dental technologists and can guide them in achieving optimal results. Conclusions: Overall, the study provided valuable insights into the practices and recommendations of dental technologists, offering guidance for achieving optimal results and avoiding potential issues.
