A comparison of centering ability of to nickle-titanium rotary files in simulated L-shaped canals
Objectives: The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the centering ability after root canal preparation by two NiTi rotary file, Oneshape® and Reciproc®. Methods: Thirty-four simulated acrylic resin L-shaped canals were devided into two groups.Group 1 (17 canals) were prepared using Onsshape® NiTi rotary files , group 2 (17 canals) were prepared using Reciproc® NiTi rotary files. Injection india ink and methylene blue in simulated canals before and after root canal preparation respectively. Photograph were taken before and after preparation by a microscope(Carl Ziess,Germany) and digitally assessed centering after superimposed of the pictures by Adobe Photoshop CS2.0(San Jose,CA). The width of acrylic resin removal was measured at upper side and lower side every 1 mm from the foramen for 10 measured points. Results: Statistiical analyzed by T-test and Mann-Whitney U test were performed at confident interval 95%. Result showed no statistically significant different between the mean of centering ratio between two groups at every 1 mm level (P value 0.998). Conclusions: In conclusion within the limits of the study, the centering ability of One shape® and Reciproc® is not different.
