Compliance With Standards In New And Veteran Dental Clinics Providing Public Service In North Region

Objectives: To compare compliance with standards of veteran and new (first inspection) dental clinics providing dental care in the basket of services of the national health insurance law
Methods: Analysis data from all inspection visits reports in 2016 by the north dental department of the ministry of health to dental clinics providing public services
Results: In 2016, 132 inspection visits were carried out; 39 were first visit and the rest second visit or more.
The average number of rejects in the veteran providers were 5.6, while the average finding in the first inspection visit found were 11.6.
Less rejects were found in young dentist's clinics than the senior ones.
Younger dentists show a better knowledge and Compliance with infection control and ministry of health standards.
Conclusions: Results show a positive effect of the Ministry of Health inspection visits to these clinics. A gap was noticed between younger and senior dentist in Compliance with standards, inspection visits help in reducing this gap. In view of these findings, expansion of the inspection visits to all dental clinics in Israel is mandated
