Survival of Immediately Provisionalised Fixed Full Arch Implant Rehabilitation

Objectives: To present the clinical and radiographic outcome as well as survival rates of immediately functional provisionalised fixed full arch implant rehabilitation.

Methods: The study included 22 jaws in 18 patients treated between the years 2004 and 2007. Treatment included extraction of all teeth in the same jaw and immediate functional provisionalised fixed full arch implant rehabilitation with acrylic temporary bridge. Of the implants, 55.24% were inserted in fresh extraction sockets and 44.76% in healed sites. At least six implants were placed in each jaw. The patients were reexamined clinically and radiographically annually.

Results: Overall, 22 jaws were evaluated; 12 maxillae and 10 mandibles. The mean follow-up period was 14.86 (± 11.13) ranged from 6 to 38 months. No implant failures were observed resulting in a 100% survival over the follow-up period.

Conclusion: Immediate implantation and immediate functional provisionalisation of fixed full arch is a reliable treatment option for patients after extraction of all residual teeth.
