New Products for the Management of Malodour

This oral presentation gives a synopsis of the scientific journey shared during this malodour management symposium, which includes new scientific findings in the key areas of malodour:

• Causes, prevalence, epidemiology, new science and challenges to its management

• Modes of action for malodour management e.g. chemical and mechanical

• New in vitro and in vivo screening models, methodologies and tools for new technology evaluation

The application of these new malodour scientific learnings are applied to the design of a new product for the effective management of malodour i.e. a gel-to-foam dentifrice which removes more bacteria associated with malodour, and removes a greater amount of oral debris during brushing in comparison to a commercially-available control dentifrice.
