Evaluation of mothers

The high prevalence and severity of dental trauma among different age groups indicates the oral care planning or other strategies such as raising the awareness of the public especially mothers are necessary. The purpose of this study was to investigation of the level of mothers? awareness of this problem In this cross-sectional study, a standard questionnaire used tocollect demographic information, history of previous dental injuries, and mothers? assessment of oral health status themselves and their children, as well as mothers? knowledge regarding emergency management of dental trauma. ANOVA and t-test were used for data analysis. The results showed that mothers' knowledge about emergency management of dental trauma was low and it was found that mothers' education and their employment status were significantly related to their knowledge. Working mothers and higher educated mothers had higher knowledge. According to the insufficient knowledge on emergencyamong mothers, educational interventions regarding dental trauma and prevention are recommended.
