Relationship Among Stress And Unstimulated Salivary Flow In Dentistry Students From The Catholic University Of Uruguay

Objectives: OBJECTIVES: To study the relationship among stress and the unstimulated salivary flow level of dentistry students from the Catholic University of Uruguay.
Methods: METHODS: This study is part of an integration of both subjects Research Methodology and Regulatory Systems of the Organism from the second academic year of the degree. An observational, analytic and cross section study will be performed in 30 students who meet the Inclusion criteriea: Voluntary students, ASA I, currently studying the degree in Dentistry in the Catholic University of Uruguay, taking at least 7 subjects from the first, third or fifth year of the degree and not taking psychotropic medication. The protocol will be submitted under evaluation of UCU’s Ethic Comitee and students will be asked to sign an informed consent. Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale Test (DASS 42) will be applied to students in order to asses the stress level, and Spittle and Collection Test to measure the unstimulated salivary flow. It is planned to collect all data on the second academic semester of 2019 and perform statistic analysis during the first semester of 2020 in the subject Biostatistics. Once the analysis is completed the writing of the scientific article will be made for its later publication, thus fulfilling the objectives of the transversal subject throughout the career.
Results: EXPECTED RESULTS: It is expected to determine the possible association between stress and modification of salivary flow in university students.
Conclusions: Once the project is completed, the corresponding conclusions will be made
