Oral Health Disparities among Older Rural Adults: Implications for Dietary Quality
Sara A. Quandt, is Professor of Epidemiology and Prevention, Division of Public Health Sciences, and Associate Director of the Program in Community Engagement of the Translational Science Institute, Wake Forest School of Medicine. She trained in medical anthropology at Michigan State University. Her research focuses on rural and minority populations, with particular emphasis on the health self-management of older adults and the use of community-based participatory research approaches in these vulnerable populations. Her dental research focuses on the dietary impacts of oral health deficits in older rural adults. Quandt received the 2007 Outstanding Rural Health Researcher Award of the National Rural Health Association.
