Clinical evaluation of different application techniques of bulkfill composite resin material

Objectives: is to clinically study the influence of different application techniques of bulk fill composite resin on improving the longevity and the success of dental composites in the clinical practice of every dentist. Sample: 40 patients will be conveniently selected to participate in this study where each patient have at least 1 posterior teeth with proximal caries (total number of teeth =40).
Methods: Class II cavities were prepared in forty selected patients. Each patient received at least one prepared tooth; according to the method of bulk fill composite application (Test Group 1, n=10 Sonicfill system, Test Group 2, n=10TetricN Ceram bulk fill. Test Group 3, n=10Surefill SDR bulkflow & control Group, n=10 TetricN Ceram incremental layering technique). The forty patients were observed for one and a half years following the modified RYGE Criteria.
Results: In the present clinical study, all the restorations evaluated in this study demonstrated acceptable clinical performance within the evaluation period ( a year and half) based on the Alpha and Bravo ratings for clinically satisfactory restorations. Statistical analysis detected no significant differences between the different application techniques.
Conclusions: As claimed by the manufactuer, Bulk- fill composite resin materials can be polymerized to an acceptable depth of cure. The most favorable results were obtained when the application of the material using activating sonic handpiece.
