All on X treatment concept "The impact of the material selection!"
A Prosthetic approach in implant dentistry.
Objectives: The aim of this presentation is to reveal the diversity of the materials that could be implemented in All on X implant cases emphasizing the general guidelines for space requirements for each and the different manifacturing techniques. Methods: The materials that will be discussed are: PMMA PMMA with fibre Acrylic Resin Bonded or Milled to Titanium High-Performance Polymers: PEEK Pekkton Milled Cobalt Chromium Monolithic zirconia restoration with gingival ceramic layering Hybrid Designs with Individual Ceramic Crowns Monolithic Lithium Disilicate Crowns on Zirconia Implant Bridges In addition, the influence of the appropriate tissue contact of these materials and how does it affect the succes of the treatment option. Results: Depending on the available resources, clinical situation and clinician's preference a myriad of prosthetic options could be followed in All on X cases. Conclusions: Lack of restorative space is one of the most common occurrences that can compromise a restoration in All on X implant cases. Inadequate restorative space will result in restorative complications which could lead to material failure or complete framework fracture or even changing the treatment plan from one restoration type to another to accommodate the space requirements.
