Results: Insist on the need for multidisciplinary management between the doctor and specialists in periodontics and oral pathology to achieve a better quality of life for patients with systemic disorders of the immune system. Propose interdisciplinary teaching between medical and dental areas. Raise awareness that the oral cavity can be an early setting for systemic manifestations. Conclusions: In this context, the oral cavity takes center stage. Evidence demonstrates that the mouth is significantly involved in IBD and, in many cases, is the first site of clinical manifestations of IBD.
