A study of color between opaque-dentine porcelain and In-Ceram

Objectives: This study was mainly about the deferent thickness of Opaque-Dentine effects on the color of In-Ceram prosthetics, helping further rich the dental color theory, color selecting and color matching.

Methods: Using MINOLTA CR-321 colorimeter, Data Color SF300 Spectrophotometer and D65 light source to observe the different thickness of Opaque-Dentine effects on the color of In-Ceram prosthetics.

Results: Applied with 1.0mm Dentine, the L values of specimens decreased with the increase of Opaque Dentine from 0.2mm to 0.4mm. The C values and H values of specimens did the same. It can be concluded that the thickness of Dentine can influence the final color.

Conclusions: It can be concluded that In-Ceram prosthetics can meet the patient's color need by regulating the thickness of different kind of porcelain and substrates.
