Application of homologous ADM in oral and maxillofacial surgery

Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of homologous acellular dermal matrix(ADM) in repairing oral mucous defect. Methods: 38 patients with oral soft tissue wound were selected. The wound was covered with homologous ADM, the survival rate was observed 10 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year later after transplantation, two of the patients 3 months after grafting were selected for histological examination. Results: All the wounds grafted healed very well, no obvious immune rejection was noted, no difference was found between mucous epithelium and the graft epithelium after 3 months. Conclusions: Homologous ADM can be widely used to cover oral soft tissue wound. Its biological character is stable.
