An esthetical study on the prosthetic restoration of cleft palate

Objectives: This paper introduced the usage of double rows of artificial teeth to restore the deficiency of middle-face in patients of cleft lip and palate. Methods: The esthetic effects were evaluated after doubles rows of artificial teeth were used to restore the middle-face deficiency. Results: The characteristics are simple, effective and easy to be accepted by patients. Conclusions:It pointed out that judging the improvement of appearance on patients of cleft palate should not referring to the facial indexes of normal people, but a harmonized and balanced facial indexes between normal people and cleft palate patients should be standardized.
