Clinical evaluation of efficacy of whitening strips on tetracycline teeth
Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of the whitening strip with DIA. Methods: 14 adult tetracycline teeth were studied. 10% hydrogen peroxide whitening strips (Crest Whitestrips, Manufactured by Procter & Gamble Company) were used for 30 minutes twice daily. The total treatment period was three weeks. The whitening efficacy was measured as L* a* b* color change via digital imaging at baseline, one week, two weeks and three weeks. Results: There was a significant color improvement for all subjects (P<0.01). The significant whitening effect was observed even after one week of treatment. Conclusions: There is significant color improvement on tetracycline teeth by using whitening strips, without meaningful adverse effects.
