The study of the relationship between SOB and GI,SBI
Objectives:This study was designed to evaluate the relationship between salivary occult blood(SOB) and gingival index(GI) , sulcular bleeding index(SBI). Methods: Randomized double-blind clinical trials with 64 persons were used. Two examiners independently finished the trials and obtained the data. Biostatistics analysis of those data was performed. Results:There was significant correlation between SOB and GI,SOB and SBI at the a=0.01 level (P<0.001).Conclusions: The results shows that the salivary occult blood for early detection of gingivitis is an acceptable index. Salivary occult blood is also useful in the evaluation of patients with suspected periodontitis during epidemics research.
