Effects of TP on RAU ulcer about T-lymphocytes in rats

Objectives: To observe the relationship between cellular immune and the pathogenesis of Recurrent Aphthous Ulcer (RAU), and to evaluate the immune regulation of Tea Polyphenols(TP)on RAU. Methods: RAU models were established by injecting antigens into SPRAGUE-DAWLY rats.40 RAU rats were divided into five groups randomly including control group, positive group and three TP therapeutic groups. The changes of CD4+ and CD8+ value in blood were measured by Flow Cytometry (FCM). Results: Compared with normal group, the value of CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ showed significantly less in RAU rats (P<0.01), while no statistical difference about the changes of CD8+ could be found (P>0.05). Compared with negative group, the values of CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ of TP therapeutic groups were much higher (P<0.05).It did not show any apparent difference among three TP therapeutic groups(P>0.05).Conclusions: The inhibition of cellular immune function may contribute to RAU incidence; TP showed immune regulation on experimental RAU rats, and it had nothing to do with pharmacy of TP, in this experiment.
