Clinical evaluation of cold light whitening tooth

Objectives: To evaluate the effect of cold light (BEYONGD) bleaching technique on teeth changed in color. Methods: After obtaining patients' permission, we evaluated the teeth by VITA shade guide .Use grit to get rid of residue on tooth according to description. Protect gingiva using fluid composite resin, overlay agents on buccal surface and incisal edge of teeth and irradiate the faces 8 minutes in a short distance. Repeat twice. Prolong irradiating time to 10 minutes and 12 minutes respectively. Select shade ,record the feeling of patients and advise patients after treatment. It totally took 90 minutes to carry out the treatment. Results: 60 patients received bleaching treatment in one year.34 patients had tetracycline pigmented teeth, 24 of them had yellow pigmented teeth, and the rest had devital Teeth. Color improved 8.22 color stage number averagely. 46 of 60 patients were satisfied, 9 of them admitted some effects but were not satisfied; 5 of them were dissatisfied. During the treatment, 26 of 60 patients felt no uncomfortable, 30 of them had a little tooth aches, 2 of them felt uncomfortable obviously but insisted on, 2 of them can not tolerate and dropped out.4 patients felt very uncomfortable after treatment at night and phoned for consultation.7 patients felt pain in the treatment because of gingival burning due to the leakage of agent.3 patients asked for treatment again for teeth color retrieved.5 patients asked for treatment again to make teeth whiter. Conclusions: Whitening tooth by cold light (BEYOND) has been proved to be an effectively safe and quick method to satisfy people's desire. But people varied from person to person, and the effect was hardly to anticipat and some persons had tooth aches to different degrees.
