Effect of 'Yishenqinghuo' recipe on the immune function of rats

Objectives: To evaluate the effect of Yishenqinghuo recipe on the immune function of the rats with experimental periodontitis. Methods: 12-15 months SD rats were selected to 4 groups. A: control group (no periodontitis model, fed same dosage saline of group D); B: model group (with periodontitis model, fed same dosage saline of group D); C: high dosage group (with periodontitis model, fed high dosage medicine); D: low dosage group (with periodontitis model, fed low dosage medicine). 3 months later, peripheral blood were collected from all animals to test CD4+ and CD8+ T cells and their ratio using Flowcytometry (FLM) and IL-2 in serum was detected by using ELISA method. Results: The ratio of CD4+T/ CD8+T in group B was smaller than that in other groups (P<0.05). The IL-2 in group C and D was much higher than that in group A and B (P<0.01), and IL-2 in group B was the lowest wheb compared with other groups (P<0.01). Conclusions: Yishenqinghuo recipe can improve the immune function of rats with experimental periodontitis.
