Adhesive Reattachment of Fractured Anterior Tooth Fragment for Children

Objectives: To observe the clinical effectiveness of reattachment of a fractured fragment to the remaining tooth structure.Materials and Methods: 14 fractured incisal fragments were immediately reattached after proper pulp therapy. Panavia F (Kuraray Co., LTD. Japan) or Duo Cement (Colt¨¨ne/Whaledent Inc. Switzerland) had been used as adhesive system. Postoperative clinical assessments were made every three months. Results: 14 restored incisors showed natural contour, no discolorment, periodontal health, and no refracture during 12 months' clinical observation. Conclusions: Reattachment of a fractured fragment to the remaining tooth by using dual-curing resin cement could provide satisfactory esthetics, reliable strength, durability and improved function.
